Empowering the public to become ocean advocates

The National Oceanography Centre (NOC) connects with diverse audiences through various events, exhibits, showcases, talks and workshops throughout the year.

Our aim is to build a world where everyone feels empowered and inspired to help our oceans thrive, and we are committed to bringing our science and innovation to new audiences through both in person and online engagement.

Upcoming Events

While we’re not able to offer public tours of our Southampton site outside of our annual Open Day, we have plenty of opportunities to engage with us throughout the year and specific events. Check out what's coming up below.

Open Day 2026

We are delighted to announce that our annual Open Day will take place on Sunday 14 June 2026. Featuring interactive exhibits, live talks and tours of our facilities, our Open Day is a great way to connect in person with our scientists, engineers, mariners and other ocean professionals who are passionate about sharing our enthusiasm for the ocean!

A registration page to book free tickets will be available in April. Until then, please keep an eye out on this page for updates.
